One who says to a woman |
| הרי את מקדשת לי |
"You are hereby betrothed to me [with this prutah] |
| על מנת שאתן לך |
on condition that I give you [an additional] |
| מאתים זוז |
two hundred zuz," |
| הרי זו מקדשת והוא יתן |
She is thereby betrothed, [so long as] he gives it to her. |
| על מנת שאתן לך |
[If he said] "On condition that I give you |
| מכאן ועד שלשים יום |
from now until thirty days hence," |
| נתן לה בתוך שלשים יום |
if he gives it to her within thirty days |
| מקדשת |
she is betrothed |
| ואם לאו אינה מקדשת |
and if not, she is not betrothed. |
| על מנת שיש לי מאתים זוז |
"On condition that I have two hundred zuz," |
| הרי זו מקדשת |
she is thereby betrothed |
| ויש לו |
[so long as] he has it. |
| על מנת שאראך מאתים זוז |
"On condition that I show you two hundred zuz," |
| הרי זו מקדשת |
she is thereby betrothed |
| ויראה לה |
[so long as] he shows it to her, |
| ואם הראה על השלחן | and if he shows it to her upon a table |
| אינה מקודשת | she is not betrothed. |

| על מנת שיש לי |

| בית כור עפר |
a beis kor of land," |
| הרי זו מקדשת ויש לו |
she is thereby betrothed [so long as] he has it. |
| על מנת שיש לי |

| במקום פלוני |
in a certain place," |

אם יש לו באותו מקום |
If he has in that place |

מקדשת |
she is betrothed |

ואם לאו אינה מקודשת |
and if not she is not betrothed. |

על מנת שאראך |
"On condition that I show you |
| בית כור עפר |
a beis kor of land," |
| הרי זו מקודשת ויראה לה |
She is thereby betrothed, [so long as] he shows it to her, |
| ואם הראה בבקעה |
and if he show it to her in a valley |
| אינה מקודשת |
she is not betrothed. |

NOTES
משנה ב
והוא יתן - This means that it takes effect retroactively when he gives her the money.
מכאן ועד שלשים יום - This is seen to be a bona fide תנאי, and not mere puffery intended to motivate himself to send her the money quickly.
ויש לו - Two witnesses need to testify to his having the funds. If witnesses cannot be found, there is still a ספק קדושין, as he may be concealing his assets to harm her.
ויראה לה - In this case, since he said that he has to show it to her, two witnesses will not suffice.
ואם הראה על השלחן - Implicit in this תנאי is that the money is his, and so, if he is a banker and shows her funds on his desk at work, that is not sufficient, as the money must belong to him.
משנה ג
ואם הראה בבקעה - The גמרא explains that this is a case of a sharecropper who shows her land that he farms, but does not own.
