If one plants a row [of vines] in his [property]
ושורה אחת בתוך של חברו and [there is] a row in his colleague's [property]
 ודרך היחיד ודרך הרבים באמצע and [even if] there is a private road or a public road in the middle,
 וגדר שהוא נמוך מעשרה טפחים or a fence that is lower than ten טפחים
הרי אלו מצטרפות [then] these two [rows] combine;
גבוה מעשרה טפחים אינן מצטרפות if it [the fence] was higher than ten טפחים then they do not combine
R' Yehuda says if they [the rows] are intertwined above [the fence]

הנוטע שתי שורות one who pants two rows [of vines]
אם אין ביניהן שמונה אמות if there is not between them eight אמות
לא יביא זרע לשם he may not bring [other] seeds there;
היו שלש if there were three [rows of vines]
אם אין בין שורה לחברתה if there is not between one row and its neighbor
 לא יביא זרע לשם he may not bring [other] seeds there;
R' Eliezer ben Yaakov said in the name of Chanina ben Chachinai
אפילו חרבה האמצעית even if the middle [row] is destroyed
 ואין בין שורה לחברתה but there is not between one row and its neighbor
לא יביא זרע לשם he may not bring [other] seeds there;
שאילו מתחילה נטען although if he had initially planted them (in this layout)
 היה מותר בשמונה אמות it would have been permissible with eight אמות (separation)

NOTES

ודרך הרבים באמצע - Although this is considered sufficient separation for כלאי זרעים, that is not the case for grapevines; the רע"ב points out that these roads are not eight אמות wide.

הרי אלו מצטרפות - They cobine to be considered a vineyard, which requires a buffer of four אמות, rather than the six טפחים of individual vines.

As they combine to be considered a vineyard.

אפילו חרבה האמצעית - Recall that the first  משנה of this פרק discussed קרחת הכרם, the cleared space within a vineyard, and that ב"ה held that a space of sixteen אמות was sufficient to for a gap be considered such a קרחת.  While ראב"י seems to be consistent with this, the ירושלמי says that is only where at least one side of the קרחת is bounded by a vineyard, whereas in our case, there are merely sole rows of vines.  The ירושלמי therefore says that ראב"י holds like ב"ש with respect to a single row of vines being considered a vineyard.

שאילו מתחילה נטען - Due to the above explanation,  the ירושלמי  is forced to say that ראב"י did not mean exactly eight אמות here (as the rows, each of which constitutes a vineyard, must be given a four אמה berth for its working space), but rather little more than eight אמות.  Another explanation is that ראב"י is saying that if the two rows had been planted sixteen אמות apart, one cuold have planted in the middle eight אמות after taking off each rows required workspace.
