Mishnah Oholot 9:1: A basket that is in an opening and its mouth faces outside, if a [piece the size of] an olive of a dead body is placed underneath or on top of it outside, anything which is opposite the [piece the size of an] olive above and below is impure and anything not opposite the olive, its inside and the house is pure. If [the impurity] was in the house, only the house is impure. If it was inside [the basket] everything is impure.

כוורת שהיא בתוך הפתח. ופיה לחוץ. כזית מן המת נתון תחתיה. או על גבה מבחוץ. כל שהוא כנגד הזית. תחתיה וגבה. טמא. וכל שאינו כנגד הזית. תוכה והבית. טהור. בבית. אין טמא אלא הבית. בתוכה הכל טמא:

Mishnah Oholot 9:2: If it [the basket] was a tefach (hand-breadth) above the ground and there was impurity under it or in the house or on top of it, everything is impure except for its inside. [If the impurity was] inside it, everything is impure. 3
