| מקבלת אשה | A woman may accept [a lulav] |
| מיד בנה | from the hand of her son |
| ומיד בעלה | and from the hand of her husband |
| ומחזירתו למים בשבת | and she may return it to water on shabbos |
| רבי יהודה אומר | Rebbi Yehuda says |
| בשבת מחזירין | on shabbos we return it [to water] |
| ביום טוב מוסיפין | on yom tov we add [water] |
| ובמועד מחליפין | and on chol hamoed we change [the water] |
| קטן היודע לנענע | a child who knows how to shake [the lulav] |
| חיב בלולב | is obligated in the mitzvah of lulav |
| פרק ד משנה א | |
| לולב וערבה | The lulav and aravah [rites] |
| ששה ושבעה | [are performed on] six or seven [days]; |
| ההלל והשמחה | Hallel and celebrating (i.e. eating meat from a korban shlomim), |
| שמונה | [are performed on] eight [days]; |
| סכה ונסוך המים | [the mitzvah of] succah and the water libation |
| שבעה | [are performed on] seven [days]; |
| והחליל חמשה וששה | and the flute [was played at the simchas beis hashoeva] five or six [days]. |

מקבלת אשה - Even though women are not obligated in the mitzvah it is not muktzeh for them.
